Mongolian Vegetable Project team works in Khovd aimag

Khovd /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian Vegetable Project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is currently being implemented, with aims to support citizens’ livelihood and increase households' income. The project team is working in Khovd aimag.


In the framework of expanding food production in small enterprises located near cities, they are also organizing a two-day training with both theoretical knowledge and practice. Over 30 citizens including local farmers, kindergarten cooks, and nutritionists are participating in the training that will offer knowledge and skills about the importance of vegetables, its preservation and recycling, and methods to cook vegetables to maximize their nutritional value.


During their fourth working visit in Khovd aimag, the project team is to become acquainted with the results of farming at households, discuss pressing issues and provide methodological advice. The households were provided with the necessary seeds, fertilizers, and tools for free as well as a greenhouse with a ratio of 4 x 8 meters at a discounted price in the framework of the project. 

 

Project implementing bodies, the ‘Khuduug shinechlekhiin tuluu’ farmers association, the SDC, and the Governor’s Office of Jargalant soum are working in cooperation in its framework.
