Deputy Foreign Minister meets U.S. Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 25, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
B.Munkhjin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Mongolia Michael S.
Klecheski to exchange views on the current state of relations and cooperation
between Mongolia and the United States.
After congratulating the Deputy Minister on his appointment to a
highly responsible position, Ambassador Michael Klecheski informed of the
efforts and initiatives the U.S. side has undertaken to strengthen the
strategic partnership between the two countries. He noted that the U.S.
Government has been implementing projects and programs to improve business
climate, child protection, and capacity of law enforcement agencies in the country.
Deputy Minister B.Munkhjin voiced
his pleasure with the deepening of bilateral cooperation and stressed the
importance of both sides putting emphasis on successful implementation of the Roadmap
for Expanded Economic Partnership between the United States of America and
Mongolia, agreed during Mongolian Prime Minister’s visit to the U.S. The Deputy Foreign Minister also informed the Ambassador that implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s project to improve Ulaanbaatar’s water supply has so far been on schedule.
