Conference on food safety and nutrition takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The World Food Day has been marked on October 16 each year since 1981 at the initiative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In the framework of efficiently marking the day in Mongolia, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the FAO Representative’s Office, and the Mongolian Food Industry Association (MFIA) organized a scientific conference under the theme, ‘Food safety - Nutrition’, on October 14.

 

The conference was opened by State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Jambaltseren, with remarks also given by FAO Resident Representative Vinod Ahuja and MFIA CEO M.Naranmandakh.

 

Students and researchers of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Mongolian University of Life Sciences and its institutes, the National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the Institute of Technology, and the Institute of Engineering and Technology, as well as experts and specialists of the General Agency for Specialized Inspection, and the National Reference Laboratory for Food Safety sent in their research works for the conference. Researchers of the Szent István University of Hungary and the Inner Mongolia Agricultural University of China have also sent in their works this year, expanding the range of the conference, highlighted the organizers.

 

The conference has been organized annually since 2016.
