TİKA renovates University of Internal Affairs library

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 22, the opening ceremony took place for ‘Erdem’ hall at the Central Library of the University of Internal Affairs, which was renovated with program financing of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

 

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Justice and Home Affairs S.Baatarjav, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia Ahmet Yazal, TİKA Program Coordinator in Ulaanbaatar Emrah Ustaomer, and corresponding officials as well as representatives of the university professors and students. 



Alongside creating a comfortable environment for the students, there are new rooms including the hall named after the university rector, conference room, meeting rooms, and a hall for the library catalogue and e-books. 


During the ceremony, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the project team of TİKA for creating favorable conditions for the university students and providing assistance with necessary equipment and items for the library.



Ambassador Ahmet Yazal said, “TİKA received the proposal for the project to put the new university building into operation and open the reading hall, from the University of Internal Affairs. With financing from the Turkish Government, the project was implemented in cooperation with a Mongolian company as the contractor.” 


 

TİKA Program Coordinator in Ulaanbaatar Emrah Ustaomer said, “Due to the pandemic, some programs and cooperation works that were previously planned have been temporarily put on hold. As the set plans have been postponed, we are currently looking for ways to organize certain training programs online. Once the situation regarding the pandemic calms down, I hope to see students of the university involved in short-term training at police academy and schools in Turkey.”
