Virtual meeting held with Mayor of Yaizu

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Director of Physical Culture and Sports Authority Ts.Sharavjamts held virtual meeting yesterday with Mayor of Yaizu, Japan Hiromichi Nakano.


The sides talked about the arrangements for the reception of Mongolian athletes for the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo in 2021. Mayor Hiromichi Nakano emphasized that the Government of Japan will pay special attention to the health of the athletes participating in the Olympics and will conduct the necessary tests and medical examinations at a high level in accordance with the current situation.




Praising the works that have been done in the past years by the Japanese side within the framework of bilateral cooperation, Director Ts.Sharavjamts expressed gratitude on behalf of the Physical Culture and Sports Authority and athletes for organizing trainings for Mongolian Para-athletics in the first quarter of 2020 in Japan, covering all costs and expenses.


Within the framework of Tokyo-2020 program of the Physical Culture and Sports Authority and cooperation documents established with Shimada, Izunokuni and Yaizu cities of Japan, Mongolian boxers, judokas, wrestlers, and Para-athletics have been training in aforementioned cities every year since 2015. As a result of this cooperation, not only the performances of Mongolian athletes grew significantly but also cultural and people to people cooperation between the two countries have been expanded.
