Chief of Cabinet Secretariat meets Ambassador of Canada

Secretariat L.Oyun-Erdene met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of Canada to Mongolia Catherine Ivkoff.
Minister L.Oyun-Erdene underscored that mining and
agricultural relations and cooperation between Mongolia and its third neighbor
and one of its top investors, Canada, have been growing rapidly and expressed
gratitude for working together with Mongolia in numerous efforts such as
upskilling civil servants and ensuring gender equality.
Ambassador Catherine Ivkoff voiced support for Mongolia’s
goals to grow its economy and ensure sustainable development and said the
COVID-19 preventive measures of the Government of Mongolia and relevant bodies
have been effective. The Ambassador also said Canada has been implementing projects
and programs in Mongolia to support the country in achieving citizen-centered service
delivery, managing its mineral revenues, ensuring economic empowerment of women,
and fighting gender-based violence.
The sides exchanged views on boosting trade and economic
relations, encouraging cooperation in possible sectors, and implementing
development projects and programs.
