U.S. Ambassador congratulates Mongolia on being removed from grey-list

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 27, Speaker of the Parliament G.Zandanshatar received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the U.S. to Mongolia Michael S. Klecheski.


During the meeting, Ambassador Michael S. Klecheski congratulated the Government of Mongolia on having removed from the FATF’s list of countries with strategic deficiencies, while underscoring the significant progress that Mongolia have made in complying with the FATF’s recommendations in a short period of time.


In turn, Speaker G.Zandanshatar thanked the Ambassador for his all-round support and commitment provided for the efforts to reach this result.




The Ambassador said, “In connection with the request you put forth in the direction of establishing cooperation between the Parliamentary Research Institute of Mongolia and the U.S. Congressional Research Service, I have got in touch with the U.S. Congressional Research Service and I am delighted to let you inform that the Research Service expressed their readiness to cooperate and share information and experience.”


Moreover, the sides shared information about the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic and the Speaker briefed on the activities, challenges, further policies of the Parliament to the Ambassador.


The Ambassador also congratulated the Speaker and the members of the Parliament on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of permanent Parliament in Mongolia.
