Views exchanged in protecting interest of investors and businesses

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On October 28, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Lee Yeo-hong met with the Chief of Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia (AFCCP) B.Bat-Erdene.

During the meeting, Mr. Bat-Erdene raised an issue of automobiles being exported from S.Korea and exchanged views on linking the automobiles’ history in S.Korea to Mongolia’s import information system, establishing a memorandum of understanding between the AFCCP and Korea Consumer Agency and developing cooperation in protecting the interest of investors and businesses of the two countries.

Mentioning that the countries are marking the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations this year, the Ambassador emphasized that the bilateral cooperation has expanded and the number of annual mutual travelers reached 200 thousand, which prove how the bilateral friendship has grown. The Ambassador accepted the request and expressed his support.   

He also stressed the need of paying attention to protect rights of every Mongolian who is receiving medical treatment, working and studying in the Republic of Korea and engaging business with the country because they are a valued ones for Korea. The sides reached agreement to put the issues discussed at the meeting into real action.

At the second part of the meeting, a revised bill on Competition, was introduced to Korean-invested businesses operating in Mongolia, and views of the Korean businessmen on the bill and the challenges in doing business in Mongolia were heard. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia and association of Korean-invested businesses.
