Ministry of Foreign Affairs launches month-long campaign for Mongolian script

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is running a 'month-long campaign for the Mongolian script' in November 2020 with the aim of increasing the use of traditional Mongolian script.
At the opening of the campaign that took place on October 30, Minister of Foreign Affairs N.Enkhtaivan remarked that Mongolian language and national script are valuable intellectual cultural heritages of the Mongolian nationality and the guarantee for the country’s integrity, national security and independence. "Ministry of Foreign Affairs now becomes the first one among government ministries to 'learn the Mongolian script' through this campaign" said Minister Enkhtaivan.
He further underscored the importance of restoring and promoting the public usage of the national script, which holds a thousand years of history, introducing it into a broad range of activities of Mongolia's foreign policy, promoting it abroad, and studying precious and rich historical works written in Mongolian script.
'Preliminary action plan to increase the use of Mongolian script at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 2020-2021' has been approved by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a view to ensure implementation of the Law on the Mongolian Language adopted by the Parliament of Mongolia in 2015, and the National Program for Mongolian script - III adopted by the Government in March 2020.
