Mongolian Ambassador visits Russian biotechnology group

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Mongolian Ambassador to the Russian Federation D.Davaa visited ‘ChemRar’ Group of Russian pharma and biotechnology on December 3. ChemRar is producing ‘Avifavir,’ a new anti-coronavirus drug being used in outpatient and clinical treatment.


Irina Tyrnova, General Director of ChemRar Research Institute and Dmitry Kravchenko, DSc, General Director of Chemical Diversity Research Institute, Member of the Board of ChemRar Group of Companies, welcomed the Ambassador and provided detailed information about the company’s activity and the drug.


The meeting was also virtually attended by Vladimir Primak, Director of the Investment Department of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and and introduced the ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine developed with the Fund's investment and support.



The parties exchanged views on the pandemic situation in the two countries and response measures to the COVID-19 and discussed further cooperation.


At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador got acquainted with the company's main laboratories and the pharmaceutical production process. The company has formally requested to establish contacts with public and private professional organizations to cooperate in supplying the drug to Mongolia.
