Online exhibition held with Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A virtual exhibition themed “Trade and Economic Cooperation between Mongolia and Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China” was organized on December 18 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and Trade Office of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.


Representatives of business entities of Bayan-Ulgii, Gobi-Altai, Zavkhan, Khovd, Uvs aimags and MNCCI took part in the event from the side of Mongolia while delegates of border port service, customs authority of Urumqi city, Hami city and business delegation attended from the Chinese side.


In his remarks delivered at the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of MFA G.Ulziisaikhan cited that the sides intend to improve trade structure of Mongolia and China, increase non-mining product export and value-added agricultural product trading in the region. Furthermore, he pointed out that Mongolia is maintaining policies to improve quality of investment, introduce eco-friendly, new technologies and support investment in non-mining sectors more.


Mr. G.Ulziisaikhan also voiced to provide all-round support on sustainably raising volume of meat export from western five aimags of Mongolia to Xinjiang Uyghur and develop cooperation in agricultural production, tourism and infrastructure.


In response, Vice Chairman of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Zhao Chongjiu expressed readiness to collaborate in increasing capacity of border checkpoints in western region of Mongolia and infrastructure improvement within the works to deepening Comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Moreover, Mr. Zhao Chongjiu claimed to render all-round support on increasing trade volume of mining and agricultural products, especially, meat and meat products and electricity with Mongolia. 


At the end of the event, Trade Promotion Society NGO and Xinjiang Metallic International Trade Co.,Ltd established a memorandum of cooperation.
