Opportunity created for Mongolian medical professionals to have free access to UpToDate platform

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Government has created the opportunity for Mongolian medical professionals of all levels to have access to an online platform named ‘UpToDate’, where medical guidelines developed by highly developed countries, international professional associations and societies as well as international organizations such as the World Health Organization can be found. Officials consider this as an important step to providing research-based, quality healthcare assistance and services to citizens, and bringing diagnosis and treatment to international standards.
With this, one of the objectives in the action plan for implementing the state policy on health for 2020-2026 has been met. The legal environment for the opportunity for doctors to have access to international medical resources as well as its usage in monitoring healthcare quality was created by the Mongolian parliament in August 2020.
‘UpToDate’ is one of the most widely used online platform internationally, with 37,500 healthcare institutions and 1.7 million doctors from 191 countries using the platform.
