Mongolian judokas win three medals on the first day of the Tashkent Grand Slam

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. International Judo Federation (IJF) is organizing Tashkent Grand Slam 2021 on March 5-7 in Uzbekistan, in which 419 judokas from 62 countries, including 18 from Mongolia are competing. The tournament offers qualification points for the Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games.


On the first day of the tournament, Mongolian judokas won one gold and two silver medals. M.Urantsetseg won the gold medal in the women’s 48 kg by defeating Natsumi Tsunoda of Japan.



In the men's 66 kg category, Yo. Baskhuu competed for the gold medal with Korean judoka, but lost by a penalty and received a silver medal. Also, L. Sosorbaram won a silver medal in the women's 52 kg category after losing to Uta Abe of Japan in the gold medal match.
