Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 15, Minister of Education and Science worked at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine. Established in 1961, the Institute of Veterinary Medicine has 76 researchers and 11 main laboratories. There are seven start-up companies that manufacture innovative products that came out as a result of various research works carried out at the institute.
Of the total of 10 million sheep that deliver offspring each year in Mongolia, 5 million are male. As the offspring are less likely to get infected, there is a possibility to turn lamb meat into an export product for Mongolia, highlighted the scholars. They also noted the market for sour products that are of animal origin. Furthermore, they conducted a research on the use of probiotics in school lunch programs, which showed that including 20 grams of probiotics in the program would greatly reduce the chance of young children catching an illness.
Despite creating dozens of new works and getting their patents, it has been challenging to create a Mongolian brand due to the lack of business plans. Thus, during the Minister’s visit, it was decided that a list of new works that are in high market demand would be introduced to businesses in order to put them on the market by jointly producing them in large quantities.
