Government approves MNT 2.7 billion as incentives for frontline healthcare workers

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its regular meeting dated March 31, the cabinet approved to provide incentives to healthcare employees working on the COVID-19 frontline.
MNT 1 million of one-time incentive will be paid to each doctor, nurse and medical employee responding to COVID-19 and each MNT 500,000 for resident doctors. The necessary funding of MNT 2 billion 780 million will be sourced from the government’s contingency fund.
There are 2,230 healthcare workers and 1,100 resident doctors working on the frontline to combat COVID-19 pandemic and their work burden has increased drastically since November 2020 as the community transmission of COVID-19 in the country has been growing nonstop, putting them at risk of being infected.
