Mongolia-Cuba relations discussed

/MONTSAME/. Yesterday, April 1, Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg received
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba Raul
Delgado Concepcion.
Briefing on the
measures being taken by the government to fight the pandemic, Minister
B.Battsetseg underscored that Cuba is successfully testing a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Minister asked about the progress of the development of ‘Mambisa’ vaccine for
children and expressed interest in purchasing it.
Moreover, the Minister
noted that last year marked the 60th anniversary of
the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries while
emphasizing her commitment to further strengthen the traditionally friendly
relations and expand bilateral cooperation.
The Ambassador
congratulated the Minister and conveyed the greetings from Cuban Foreign
Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla. He stressed the importance of increasing
cooperation opportunities between the two countries in the fields of health,
biotechnology, and tourism, and said that the country is ready to sign an
inter-ministerial memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of
health. The Ambassador also provided information on vaccines being developed by
the Cuban government against COVID-19.
In addition, the sides
exchanged views on organizing the fourth consultation meeting between the
Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Cuba virtually in the near
future.
