Three Mongolian boxing athletes win gold at Asian Boxing Championships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The national boxing team of Mongolia has grabbed 3 gold and 5 bronze medals from the Asian Boxing Confederation’s Asian Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championships took place in Dubai, UAE from May 21 to May 31. 

 

More specifically, bronze medalist of the 2019 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships, IM Enkh-Amar Kharkhuu faced off against the champion of Ekaterinburg 2019 World Boxing Championships, 2018 Asian Games, and 2019 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships, athlete of Uzbekistan Mirazizbek Mizakhalilov in the finals. He came out victorious with a score of 3:2, winning the gold medal in the men’s 56 weight class. 

 

This is his first time winning the continental championship tournament.

 

As for the men’s 60 kg weight class, bronze medalist of World Boxing Championships Tsendbaatar Erdenebat has become the Asian Boxing champion for the second time with a dominating 5:0 victory against Iranian athlete Danial Shahbakhsh.

 

 

In the men’s 64 kg weight class, IM Chinzorig Baatarsukh stepped into the ring against bronze medalist of world boxing championships, Indian athlete Shiva Thapa, winning with a score of 3:2. With this, Chinzorig has won gold, silver, and bronze medals from the continental championship tournament throughout his boxing career. From the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships, he won the silver medal in the 64 kg weight class in 2017, and the bronze medal later in 2019.
