1,816 lives saved in the first five months

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. As of the first five months of 2021, 1,782 disastrous occurrences have been recorded. As a result, 370 people died, 357 injured and 153,365 livestock died and caused loss of MNT 9.9 million, according to National Emergency Management Office (NEMA).  

 

The NEMA and other related organizations saved the lives of 1,816 people and protected property worth MNT 36.9 billion. MNT 1.5 billion was spent from NEMA and local budget for disaster prevention and elimination of consequences.

 

Fire accounted for 70 percent of the total disastrous occurrences.

 

1,239 (70 percent) of the total disastrous occurrences recorded in the first five months of 2021 were fire-related accidents.
