Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On June 26, a meeting took place to establish a ‘Responsibility Agreement’ with restaurant and cafe owners, which will allow them to run their operations by adhering to social distancing and infection prevention guidelines.

In connection with the restrictions that have been set in place to restrict their operations due to the pandemic situation, entities in the food production and service sector requested the Emergency Commission of the Capital City and the governing body of the capital city to allow the businesses to run their operations by establishing the responsibility agreement. Per their request, the Governor’s Office of the Capital City received members of the Mongolian Restaurant Association and representatives of the sector.

By establishing the agreement, entities and citizens will be able to run their operations as normally. However, if they do not follow the infection prevention guidelines, including the temporary regulation on taking preventive measures against infection, and the current requirements set in place for running operations in the food production and service sector, appropriate corresponding measures will be taken such as suspending their operations and revoking their licenses.

More specifically, entities will be held responsible for violations such as not maintaining physical distancing between tables, running operations at over 50 percent capacity, and employing workers that have yet to be fully vaccinated. The ‘Responsibility Agreement’ has been established with 2,510 entities and citizens in the sector.
