President expresses full support for Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 25, President of
Mongolia U.Khurelsukh received President of the Confederation of Mongolian
Trade Unions (CMTU) Kh.Amgalanbaatar and executive officials of the
confederation.
President
U.Khurelsukh expressed his full support for CMTU in protecting worker rights,
paying attention to social issues, and strengthening the trade union confederation.
He then
noted the efforts made by CMTU in having the Law on Labor approved by the
Parliament, which has not been amended since 1999. He stressed that the confederation
should take part in the public-private consultation for measures to be taken
against the pandemic that will take place next month to express their stance.
In
turn, Kh.Amgalanbaatar noted that the President of Mongolia worked closely with
the CMTU during his term as the Prime Minister. In particular, he expressed his
gratitude for resolving issues related to the four types of tax increases and
social insurance premiums in a citizen-friendly manner.
The CMTU Representatives requested the President to provide support in organizing a nationwide movement for
productivity, having state-owned and private companies
to give shares to its employees, increasing the salary of people working at
educational institutions to the level of average salary, and addressing their
social issues.
