Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On September 7, Chairman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) Mr. Zandanshatar addressed at the interactive general debate titled ‘The global response to the COVID-19 pandemic challenges multilateralism’s ability to deliver for the people,' organized as part of the ‘5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament’ (5WCSP) in Vienna, Austria.
In his speech, Mr. Zandanshatar noted that the COVAX Facility
is greatly contributing to the development, production and equal access to
COVID-19 testing, treatment and vaccines, which is a clear evidence of the
effectiveness of multilateral cooperation. “As the difficulties caused by the
pandemic persist, the countries will become unable to overcome these challenges
alone, therefore it is necessary to co-work closely to find a common solution
through multilateral mechanism,” stressed Mr. Zandanshatar.
The 5WCSP brought together representatives from more than
110 countries. In the debate, heads of delegates from 15 countries, including
Russia, South Korea, Japan, India, Afghanistan and Montenegro, delivered speeches,
expressing their positions.
The same day, Chairman G. Zandanshatar, together with MPs D.
Togtokhsuren and D. Ganbat, attended the general debate ‘Countering
misinformation and hate speech on and offline requires stronger regulations’.
