Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan is attending the 20th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that is taking place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on September 16-17.

During the SCO summit, he held a meeting with State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi to discuss active trade and economic cooperation between the two countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy PM S.Amarsaikhan highlighted that the COVID-19 vaccines donated by China served a significant role in Mongolia’s fight against the pandemic, and requested the Chinese Foreign Minister to give attention to matters such as increasing the transport of goods and products going through border checkpoints, increasing coal import from Mongolia, and reducing the amount of containers that have accumulated at the Tianjin Port in China.

In turn, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the PRC Wang Yi expressed readiness to support Mongolia in the fight against the pandemic through the supply of vaccines as well as financing. He then noted that the side of China will continue to pay attention to reducing the amount of containers that have accumulated at Tianjin port and accelerate the flow of goods and products going through border checkpoints.
