Sambo athletes grab four medals from World Sambo ChampionshipsSports
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolian sambo wrestlers have won one silver and three bronze medals at the 46th World Sambo Championships that took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The World Sambo Championships was special for that the competition took place for the first time since sambo has been added to the Olympic program by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Athletes from 50 countries competed for 21 sets of medals and team of Russia led others.
Sambo wrestler N.Bayarmaa won the silver medal in the women’s 54 kg weight class, while B.Altangerel, Ts.Battsetseg and N.Batsuuri (in the men’s class) grabbed bronze medals in their respective weight classes.
The next World Sambo Championships that has been annually held since 1973 will take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
