Ts.Tsogtbaatar wins gold at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2021

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On November 27, Tokyo-2020 bronze medalist IM Ts.Tsogtbaatar won the gold medal on the second day of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, which took place in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates between November 26 and November 28. 


While he won three Grand Slam tournaments previously, he was able to claim his 4th championship by coming out victorious over Khikmatillokh Turaev of Uzbekistan in the final match for men’s -73 kg weight class.


With this, he also secures 1,000 points on the International Judo Federation’s World Ranking List, bringing him to the top of the ranking.


As for Lasha Shavdatuashvili of Georgia who had been leading the ranking for the weight class, he won the bronze medal alongside young judoka Armen Agaian of Russia. 



On the first day of the Grand Slam tournament, IM B.Khorloodoi and IM L.Enkhriilen won the bronze medals in the women’s 52 kg and 57 kg weight classes respectively, with Yo.Baskhuu also grabbing a bronze medal in the men’s 66 kg.
