NSO Chairman holds virtual meeting with Director of ESCAP Statistics Division

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman
of the National Statistics Office of Mongolia (NSO) B.Batdavaa held a virtual meeting
with Rachael Beaven, Director of the Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic
and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
The sides discussed bilateral
cooperation and the activities of the management of ESCAP Statistics Division.
The NSO Chairman gave brief information on the national statistics strategy for
2021-2025, noting that increased focus will be given to improving the legal
framework for statistics, upskilling the workforce, and enhancing the sector’s capacity.
He also showed an interest in cooperating in the development of environmental
and economic accounts, capacity building of the workforce, introducing a geographical
data system and establishing a regional group on unified state database, data
governance, control and management.
ESCAP Statistics Division Director
Ms. Rachael Beaven undertook to cooperate after considering the proposals and
said it is possible to provide support in establishing contact with relevant
organizations.
