President receives Japanese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Today, President U.Khurelsukh received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan that occurs this year.  


Expressing his satisfaction with the announcement of 2022 as the Year of Friendship and Exchanges between Mongolian and Japanese Children and Youth, President U.Khurelsukh expressed commitment to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.


Ambassador Kobayashi Hiroyuki said that the preparations have been fulfilled to celebrate the anniversary throughout the year. On the occasion of the historic anniversary, reciprocal high-level visits will be held and the Ambassador pledged to work for intensifying the Strategic Partnership between the two countries. He said he is in favor of organizing numerous events especially for children and youth, who will hold the future of bilateral relations.


The President remarked the successful completion of the Mongolia-Japan Mid-term Action Plan for a Strategic Partnership (2017-2021) and underscored the importance of agreeing on the next mid-term action plan.


At the meeting, the two parties also discussed ways to boost trade, investment and business cooperation. The Ambassador said that the ‘One Billion Trees’ national campaign initiated by the Mongolian President is an important timely step to combat climate change, and stated he would closely collaborate in this direction.
