Mongolian judo athletes grab three bronze medals from Portugal Grand Prix

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 2022 IJF World Judo Tour kicked off with the Portugal Grand Prix, which took place in Almada, Portugal from January 28 to 30.
With a total of 301 judo athletes representing 41 countries in the tournament, the national team of Mongolia finished 18th in the ranking as they grabbed three bronze medals.
On the first two days of the tournament, silver medalist of the 2021 National Judo Tournament B.Tsogt-Ochir won the bronze medal in the men’s -60kg weight class, while national youth champion L.Ankhzaya also grabbed the bronze medal in the women’s -73kg weight class.
On the final day of the Grand Prix tournament, the medal streak was continued by A.Adiyasuren who grabbed the bronze medal in the women’s +78kg.
The Paris Grand Slam will be the next international tournament for the Mongolian judo athletes. Currently, 344 athletes from 58 countries are expected to compete in the tournament, which will kick off on February 5.
