Environment Minister meets South Korean Ambassador

of Environment and Tourism B.Bat-Erdene and Deputy Minister of Environment and
Tourism G.Tuvdendorj held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to
Mongolia Lee Yeo-hong.
The Ambassador put forth a
number of proposals for environment and tourism cooperation and pledged support
to the One Billion Trees campaign initiated by the Mongolian President. The
Ambassador also asked the Environment Ministry to provide coordination for the ‘Green
growth-Green reform’ project, expressing willingness to cooperate in organizing
consultative meetings and expos and implementing development cooperation projects.
“In 2019, over 100 thousand South Korean tourists visited Mongolia. It is possible to raise this number,” said Ambassador Lee Yeo-hong, asking the Ministry to make efforts to enable South Korean tourists to travel visa free to Mongolia, stressing the importance of promoting cultural understanding between the two countries to boost tourism between the two countries.
Environment Minister B.Bat-Erdene
proposed effectively developing tourism between the two countries, informing that
the Ministry in collaboration with the Tourism Development Center organized the
New Revival Policy-Tourism conference to hear proposals from businesses in the
sector.
The Minister invited the
Ambassador to a meeting that the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Ministry of
Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are having with foreign Ambassadors
and tourism sector representatives.
