President receives Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan
Yoshimasa Hayashi, who is paying an official visit to Mongolia, has paid a
courtesy call on President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh today.
President U.Khurelsukh noted that the visit marks the high-level
development of Mongolia - Japan strategic partnership.
Expressing his satisfaction with the countries’ designating the
year of 2022 as the 'Year of Friendship and Exchange of Mongolian and Japanese
Children and Youth’ on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Mongolia-Japan
diplomatic relations, the President has extended his invitation for His Majesty
Emperor Naruhito of Japan to visit Mongolia in the frames of the anniversary.
Moreover, the President expressed gratitude to the
Government of Japan for providing assistance and support in overcoming the
COVID-19 pandemic difficulties with minimal loss.
The President stressed the need to develop mutually
beneficial cooperation in all sectors such as mining, environment, agriculture,
tourism, culture and education.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi said
that the Government of Japan attaches great importance to its relations and
cooperation with Mongolia and reaffirmed its commitment to further development
in all aspects.
He also expressed his support for the One Billion Trees
movement initiated by the President of Mongolia, and informed that studies are
being carried out on possible ways to provide support and cooperate in its
framework.
The sides agreed to implement the Mongolia-Japan Economic
Partnership Agreement fully to maintain the frequency of high-level reciprocal
visits and expand trade, investment and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on developing business
and people-to-people ties, in particular increasing children and youth
exchanges, and on the matters regarding regional and international situations.
