Director General of ADB's East Asia Department meets Mongolian Prime Minister

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Director General of ADB's East Asia Department Mrs. Teresa Kho and Advisor Mr. Safdar Parvez paid a courtesy call to the Mongolia Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai during their visit to Mongolia from 30 June to 4 July.
The Prime Minister expressed his strong appreciation for ADB's support to Mongolia’s COVID-19 response. He highlighted ADB programs and projects in 2022-2023 that are directly aligned with Mongolia’s economic recovery policy and food security plan. The Prime Minister emphasized the difficult economic situation in Mongolia and conveyed his gratitude for ADB’s proposed emergency financing through the Countercyclical Support Facility.
Mrs. Teresa Kho also met with ADB Governor and Finance
Minister Javkhlan Bold, the Parliament Speaker Zandanshatar Gombojav and Vice
Minister Narantsogt Sanjaa. During these meetings, she discussed programming
priorities, including investment projects that could help kick-start the
recovery in Mongolia, while also promoting economic diversification in the
medium-term. The mission met with the IMF and World Bank to discuss the
economic challenges and outlook for Mongolia.
