Forest pest identification and prevention training held
EnvironmentUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Training on Forest pest
identification and prevention was held by the STREAM project in Tunkhel village
of Mandal soum on 26-29 July. Insects are essential because of their diversity
and ecological role, however, pest overpopulation degrades forests.
The training aims to empower environmental rangers, environmental inspectors, and forest-user group members with the knowledge to identify and fight against harmful pests using their capacity.
The Specific Objective II of the ‘Sustainable Resilient
Ecosystem and Agriculture Management in Mongolia (STREAM)’ project, co-financed
by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation
and Development (BMZ), is being implemented by the GIZ.
