Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Within the “Cultural and Creative Month” campaign, an exhibition of more than 2,000 handcrafters’ works was displayed, and the best 100 artworks were selected and awarded.
The best among 2,000 works of handcrafters from nine districts of the capital city, Umnugovi, Khuvsgul, Orkhon, Uvs, Zavkhan, Bayankhongor, and Darkhan-Uul aimags, were selected. The Ministry of Culture and the “Small and Medium Enterprises and Services Support Center” capital city-owned enterprise will cooperate with the selected works and handcrafters to develop their products for 1-3 years to bring them to the international market.
During the selection of the masterpieces,
the Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar, J.
Batbayasgalan, addressed the handcrafters, “You are the people who are creating
the traditional cultural heritage of your nation with your skills and
intelligence to spread your historical culture. The Government of Mongolia is
implementing a policy to make a transition from importer to exporter. This exhibition is an
important event that serves as a bridge between small and medium-sized
enterprises and handcrafters to the international market. During the pandemic,
the hardest test and hit fell on the small and medium producers and
entrepreneurs. In this sense, we believe it is a major action to revive the
economy.”
Small and medium enterprises and services
are essential sectors of the economy, accounting for more than 70% of
Mongolia’s labor market, 18.3% of GDP, and 2.4% of total export income.
