“President Sports Complex” to be Built

February 3, 2023 /MONTSAME/. During the state visit of Mongolian
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to the People’s Republic of China in November
2022, the parties signed the Exchange of Letters on “Conducting the Feasibility
Study for the Construction Project of Children and Youth Sports Complex”.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister has approved
an order and a working group in charge of organization and implementation of
this project has been established as a follow-up action of the visit. A Head of
the working group, the Minister of Mongolia and a Chair of the National Olympic
and Sports Committee B. Bat-Erdene and a member of the working group and an
Advisor to the President O. Buyannemekh met with Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Mongolia Chai Wenrui and
exchanged views and information on the progress of this project.
During the meeting, the Mongolian side gave
information on completed works under the project. For example, the completion
of the feasibility study is about 75%, and its working drawings are expected to
be ready in March. The sports complex is planned to be built on a 4-hectare
area, with a four-floor building which has a capacity of 8000-1000 people and
an area of 59 thousand square meters.
Ambassador Chai Wenrui expressed his
readiness to thoroughly support the implementation of this project. Under this
project, an expert team will come from China and assist the Mongolian side to
complete the project within the short term with high productivity.
