“Stop Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV, Hepatitis B Virus and Syphilis" Training Conducted

Ulaanbaatar, February 6, 2023 /MONTSAME/. With support from WHO, the Ministry of Health is jointly organizing training on triple elimination methodology for health care workers and conducting implementation assessment of "Procedures to stop mother-to-child transmission of HIV, hepatitis B virus and syphilis" issued by the Ministerial order A/614 among health institutions that provide prenatal and maternal health care service in Ulaanbaatar city and local provinces, in collaboration with the National Center for Communicable Diseases and the Mongolian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

The implementation assessment is being conducted at total of 30 health institutions including the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, specialized hospitals, Urguu, Khuree, Amgalan maternity hospitals, health centers of Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, Songinokhairkhan, Sukhbaatar, Chingeltei, Khan-Uul districts, 18 family health centers and 2 private hospitals.

 

Health care workers in Ulaanbaatar city and local provinces are being involved in the 2-days classroom training on "Procedures to stop mother-to-child transmission of HIV, hepatitis B virus and syphilis". The triple elimination training is planned to be conducted virtually on 31 January – 01 February 2023 as well. Following the classroom and virtual trainings, the training curriculum and sessions will be published online available to all health care workers.
