Khovd Aimag Plants 300 Thousand Trees

Khovd aimag, June 15, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Under the "One Billion Trees" National Campaign initiated by President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, Khovd aimag has planted 300 thousand trees in the past two years.
The Department of Environment and Tourism of Khovd aimag has reported, "This spring we have planted more than 25 thousand trees throughout the aimag."
Furthermore, Bulgan soum of Khovd aimag has gained recognition in Mongolia for having the most fruit trees, planting the highest number of fruit trees in the aimag, which totals 70 thousand. Each year, enterprises and citizens of Bulgan soum supply over 20 thousand seedlings and saplings of fruit trees to the market. There are 12 fruit farms and 300 households engaged in fruit tree cultivation in the soum. Last year, these efforts resulted in a harvest of 60 tons of fruits.
