Role of Parliaments in Mongolia-Canada Relations Emphasized

Ulaanbaatar, November 22, 2023 /MONTSAME. On November 21, 2023, Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Greg Fergus and discussed relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Battsetseg noted that Mongolia has been developing a partnership and cooperation with Canada, a significant third partner of Mongolia, based on the common values of the two countries. The Foreign Minister emphasized that the Parliaments and Parliamentary Friendship Groups of the two countries have played a significant role in expanding and strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.
Expressing his pleasure at meeting with the Foreign Minister of
Mongolia, a country that develops friendly relations with Canada, Speaker of
the House of Commons of Canada Greg Fergus noted that this was his second
meeting with a foreign minister of another country since assuming the
Speakership.
Foreign Minister Battsetseg underscored that this Visit holds
high significance in reviewing the achievements and defining the goals of the Comprehensive
Partnership and cooperation for the next 50 years. Minister.Battsetseg
expressed commitment to further expanding cooperation in the green economy,
education, climate-resilient agriculture, and clean energy and emphasized the role
of the Parliaments of the two countries in strengthening the legal framework of
bilateral relations, including the conclusion of an Agreement on Aviation
Relation.
The Speaker of the House of Commons expressed eagerness to cooperate
with Mongolia and exchange experiences, which has been making great
strides in implementing policies to promote gender equality, a feminist foreign
policy, ensure women's leadership and women's participation in decision-making.
