Foreign Minister Battsetseg Emphasizes the Climate Change at the G77

Ulaanbaatar, December 4, 2023 /MONTSAME. During the United Nations Conference on Climate Change – COP 28 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Group of 77 at the UN held a high-level meeting on December 2, 2023.  


The high-level officials from the G77 exchanged views on the Group's position on the issues to be addressed during COP 28 and issues that should focus on at climate change talks and discussions to be held in 2024 and discussed a wide range of other issues including a comprehensive assessment of the Paris Agreement, solutions to reduce loss and damage, increase financing, mitigate and adapt to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emission.


Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh emphasized that climate change has a significant negative impact on the development of countries around the world, especially in developing countries. The Minister presented policies and activities taken by the Government of Mongolia.


Minister D. Battsetseg highlighted the importance of women's leadership and participation in creating a stable society with equal opportunities as girls and women are greatly affected by climate change. Ms. B. Battsetseg affirmed that Mongolia would host the World Women's Forum in 2024 to discuss the issues of climate change.
