Ulaanbaatar, March 14, 2024. /MONTSAME/. During its regular session on March 14, 2024, the Cabinet of Mongolia supported submitting to the State Great Khural of Mongolia the Draft Resolution of the State Great Khural of Mongolia on “Approval of Action Plan for the Implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Program.”
To effectively combat corruption and rebuild public trust in government, a long-term and medium-term program with clear policies and actionable plans is necessary to address the abuse of power and authority. Officials are optimistic that the newly approved action plan for implementing the national anti-corruption program will lead to progress in these efforts.
The draft Resolution outlines the implementation of 290 measures between 2023 and 2030 to achieve the 11 goals and 48 objectives of the National Anti-Corruption Program set by 2023 Resolution No. 59 of the State Great Khural. Successful implementation will rely on the participation and cooperation of public and private sectors, civil society organizations, international organizations, the media, and citizens.
With the implementation of this program, it is believed positive outcomes would result, including a yearly decline in corruption, an expanded state budget, increased public trust in public organizations, rising citizen income, a strengthened culture of zero tolerance for corruption, and a more robust whistle-blowing system.
