Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue Commences in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, April 25, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia is convening the second annual Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue on April 25-26, 2024.


Co-organized by Stanford University’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) and the Ban Ki-moon Foundation For a Better Future, the Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue commenced today at the State Palace of Mongolia.


This convening will focus on expediting action advancing peace, justice, and strong institutions — the vision captured in Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) of the Agenda’s underlying 17 SDGs.


Participants of the Forum include Chairman of the Great State Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav; the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chairman of the Ban Ki-moon Foundation For a Better Future Ban Ki-moon; and Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev.


Also, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Lezsák Sándor, Member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Rahmetova Asem Kalashbayeva, the William J. Perry Professor of Contemporary Korea at Stanford and Director of APARC Gi-Wook Shin, along with high-level representatives and over 300 delegates from 11 countries, are taking part in second annual Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue.
