Regulation for Providing Government Support to Mongolian Educational Institutions Operating Abroad Approved

/MONTSAME/. During its regular session on May 22, 2024,
the Cabinet of Mongolia approved a Resolution on Regulation for Providing
Government Support to Mongolian Educational and Lifelong Learning Institutions
Operating Abroad. The Cabinet directed Minister of Education and Science of
Mongolia L. Enkh-Amgalan to secure funding for the support within the 2024
budget allocation and implement measures for reflecting the necessary funding in
the annual State Budget.
The
Resolution will leverage Mongolian children living abroad to learn, inherit,
and spread the Mongolian language, customs, and historical and cultural
traditions. Also, it will be a significant step towards fostering the
development of Mongolian people abroad, ensuring the implementation of
legislation on education, and supporting the goals and objectives outlined in
Mongolia’s long and medium-term development policies.
A
total of 59
Mongolian language and culture centers, established through public initiatives,
operate in 16 countries, including Germany, the United States, Canada,
Switzerland, and the Republic of Korea. These centers, ranging from schools and
kindergartens to cultural centers and summer camps, provide training in
Mongolian language, history, music, dance, and chess to over six thousand
children.
