“Dream Goal” Junior Football Tournament Begins

Ulaanbaatar, June 11, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Under the auspices of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and within the scope of the “FIFA Football for Schools” program of the International Federation of Association Football, the “Dream Goal” football tournament among secondary school students of Mongolia commences.
This tournament’s matches are taking place in the field of the Mongolian Football Federation in Yarmag, Ulaanbaatar, with the fifth stage matches being held until June 20, 2024. Champions will emerge from each age group U12, U14, and U16, divided into boys and girls categories. This is the actualization of the long-term program to promote football, a sport played by millions globally, in Mongolia.
The “FIFA Football for Schools” project in Mongolia is designed for the widescale promotion of the sport among youths following international standards. The tournament is supported by President Khurelsukh and is co-organized by the National Committee of Physical Education and Sports of Mongolia, the General Authority of Education of Mongolia, and the Mongolian Football Federation.
The “Dream Goal” tournament will be held annually for 4 years. The first stage of matches started in September of 2023, where 30 thousand children tested their skills and wits, while currently, 900 children from 61 teams will compete in the last stage of the tournament. Young athletes will be selected from the competition to form the national junior football team to compete in international junior tournaments.
