Ulaanbaatar, August 1, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Tavan Bogd Group opened the second FUJIFILM’s NURA AI health screening center in Mongolia on August 1, 2024. The newly established NURA Mongolia Zaisan Center can screen 30,000 to 40,000 individuals annually, using AI-powered technologies of FUJIFILM Corporation, the world leader in medical devices.

FUJIFILM Corporation has opened six NURA centers across Mongolia, Japan, the Republic of India, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In less than a year of operation, the first NURA Mongolia Center, which opened in September 2023, has already served 15,000 clients, identified over 500 potential cancer cases, and referred them to specialized hospitals for further treatment.

Clients at the NURA Mongolia Center are predominantly women (58%), with men comprising 42% of the total. Age-wise, participants range from 18 to 102 years old, with the majority falling within the 30-64 age group. This indicates a strong engagement of younger individuals in early detection efforts in Mongolia. Leveraging artificial intelligence, the NURA Mongolia Center can screen for the most common cancers and lifestyle-related chronic diseases in Mongolia within an average of two hours. A set of 32 tests for early detection and diagnosis are performed with an accuracy rate of 99.7%, revolutionizing the healthcare industry.

President of the Tavan Bogd Group Ts. Baatarsaikhan said, “The NURA Mongolia Zaisan Center will significantly reduce the number of patients traveling abroad for disease diagnosis by obtaining accurate test results quickly using artificial intelligence, the groundbreaking advancements in healthcare. This innovative approach will contribute substantially to both individual and national economies. Tavan Bogd Group is preparing to enter the markets of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, which are key pillars of Central Asian development. Additionally, we are collaborating with Mongolian hospitals to diagnose and treat 100,000 people annually and provide care for clients identified with diseases at our center.”

During the Opening Ceremony of the NURA Mongolia Zaisan Center, MONTSAME Mongolian National News Agency spoke with Teiichi Goto, President, Representative Director, and Chief Executive Officer of the FUJIFILM Corporation.

-In collaboration with Tavan Bogd Group and FUJIFILM Corporation, the first NURA Mongolia Center opened in September 2023 and has served over 15,000 clients since then. What is the reason for opening the second NURA center after just one year?

-Due to the high volume of clients served at the NURA Center and its ceaseless operation, we accelerated our efforts to open the second NURA center. Last year, at the Opening Ceremony of the first NURA center, I shared with President of Tavan Bogd Group Ts. Baatarsaikhan my aspiration to achieve this level of success today, which is the opening of the second center. I am therefore delighted to have realized this goal. Moreover, we are proud of Tavan Bogd Group.

-At the “Mongolia-Uzbekistan Business Forum” held in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ts. Baatarsaikhan, President of Tavan Bogd Group, announced that the group would open a NURA early detection center in Uzbekistan and invest USD 10 million. How will FUJIFILM Corporation cooperate in this project?

-In partnership with Tavan Bogd Group, we are preparing to launch the NURA center in Uzbekistan. Through our work in Mongolia, we aim at fostering a culture of preventive health examinations across Central Asia.

A total of 300 medical staff are serving clients at the two NURA Mongolia centers.
