Prime Minister of Mongolia Pays a Courtesy Call on President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Ulaanbaatar, October 1, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai paid a courtesy call on President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) and General Secretary of the ruling party To Lam, who is on a State Visit to Mongolia on September 30-October 1, 2024. 


Noting the importance of the relations and cooperation with South Asian countries, particularly with SRV that Mongolia places in its foreign policy towards Asia and the Pacific region, the Premier expressed the commitment to expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with Vietnam.

 

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene mentioned that the two countries have stably developed friendly relations and cooperation based on the Principle of Friendship and Cooperation” over the last years and expressed satisfaction for bringing the relations level to the Comprehensive Partnership on this State Visit of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Vietnam.

 

The two parties exchanged views on the possibilities to implement mutually beneficial, economically significant major projects and programs that can become an identity of the relations between the two countries and coordinated “Vision-2050” a long-term development policy being implemented by the Government of Mongolia with a long-term policy to develop Vietnam until 2050.

 

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene noted that he hopes the Governments of the two countries would closely cooperate in the realization of initiatives and agreements by the Heads of State of Mongolia and Vietnam and effective organization of the XIX meeting of Mongolia-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on TradeEconomicScientific and Technical Cooperation to be held this November in Hanoi.

 

The two sides noted with appreciation that the two parties agreed to cooperate in removing barriers in transportation and logistics, expanding air transport connectivity between the two countries, and encouraging tourism and citizen exchange through direct flights in order to enrich relations between the two countries with economic content and intensify mutually beneficial cooperation.

 

Emphasizing that the Mongolian and Vietnamese people traditionally have supported each other in difficult times, the Premier stated that the Government of Mongolia decided to provide USD 200,000 in humanitarian aid to the Government of Vietnam to address the damage caused by the strongest storms in Vietnam in the last 30 years.
