President of Mongolia Lays Wreath at Turkmenistan's Independence Monument

Ashgabat, October 11, 2024 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is paying a State Visit to Turkmenistan on October 10-13, 2024. 


On October 12, 2024, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and the Mongolian delegation paid tribute and laid a wreath at the "Independence Monument" of Turkmenistan.


The State Honor Guard of Turkmenistan stood in formation and welcomed President Khurelsukh and the Mongolian delegation upon their arrival at the "Independence Monument." The 118-meter-high Monument was erected in Ashgabat in 2001, and in front of the Monument stands a golden statue of Turkmenistan's first President Saparmurat Niyazov.


After the Wreath-Laying Ceremony, President Khurelsukh planted a tree in the Garden of Honorary Guests to symbolize the friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries.


During the State Visit, the two Presidents agreed to coordinate Mongolia's "One Billion Trees" National Movement with the National Forestry Program of Turkmenistan, aimed at combating climate change, desertification, and protecting the environment.
