PoliticsUlaanbaatar, November 1, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia Altangerel Oyunsaikhan received Asia Pacific Regional Director of the World Justice Project Srirak Plipat and exchanged views on cooperating and implementing draft laws to ensure human rights and combat corruption.
At the meeting, Mr. Srirak Plipat presented the Rule of Law Index, and Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs Altangerel underlined that the Joint Government intends to prioritize ensuring human rights and combating corruption in the next four years and make reforms and major changes in the sector.
The World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index uses eight factors to provide a comprehensive picture of how countries adhere to the rule of law. These factors include constraints on government powers, absence of corruption, open government, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, civil justice, and criminal justice. The representatives of the World Justice Project emphasized that the Rule of Law Index of countries is assessed independently of the organization’s position, as reported by the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia.
