Outstanding Young Mongolian Scholars Receive Presidential Award
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, December 31, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Three outstanding young scholars of Mongolia received the Presidential Award for Young Scholars on December 29, 2024.
Dr. Myadagbadam Urtnasan, a Scientist at the Institute of Traditional Medicine and Technology of Mongolia, has made a tangible contribution to the health sector by developing technologies for extracting new medicines from plant, animal, and mineral raw materials used in traditional medicine, investigating the scientific nature of traditional herbal remedies, conducting research on new sources of medicine, particularly, the technology of musk deer musk raw materials, traditional medicines Notsog-6, and technologically innovative medicines Haliforte and Kolsaurin, developing innovative products, conducting quality and safety assessments, and Introducing these products into clinical practice.
Dr. Batmagnai Erdenechimeg, a Scientist at the Department of Geomagnetism of the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, has made substantial contributions to geophysics. He has developed and implemented innovative geophysical exploration methods for identifying rare earth elements, oil, and mineral deposits in Mongolia. Dr. Batmagnai was the first to evaluate and introduce geothermal resources in the country, combining advanced electromagnetic theoretical methodologies with cutting-edge practical measurement technologies. His groundbreaking research has produced new geophysical insights, particularly in determining the deep structures of geothermal systems in volcanic regions.
Dr. Munkhsoyol Erkhembaatar, a Lecturer at the Department of Physiology in the School of Biomedicine at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, has made wider strides in researching the causes of bone and nervous tissue diseases and disorders. Her work contributes to developing novel treatment methods by uncovering the mechanisms of disease pathogenesis and the efficacy of drugs used in the medical field. Dr. Munkhsoyol has published over a dozen papers in journals indexed in international databases, with her research cited 230 times globally, achieving an h-index of 8.
During the Awards Ceremony, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa extended congratulations and best wishes to the outstanding young scientists, as well as their families and colleagues, for their achievements and future endeavors.
