Mongolian Athlete Sugarsuren Crowned World Fitness Champion
SocietyUlaanbaatar, January 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2024 IFBB World Fitness Championships and Men’s World Cup successfully took place in Tokyo, Japan, on December 16-24, 2024. Organized by the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) with 203 member states, the World Championships brought together over 1,500 athletes.
Honored Athlete of Mongolia Sugarsuren Batbuyan earned the gold medal in the "Master Women’s Wellness 40 Years & Over, Open" category at the 2024 IFBB World Fitness Championships, becoming the first Mongolian to win the gold medal at this prestigious event. Previously, Sugarsuren had secured a bronze medal in the same category.
In addition, Ariunaa Dushtumur placed sixth in the "Master Wellness 35-39" category at the 2024 IFBB World Fitness Championships.
Also, at the IFBB Men’s World Cup, Gerelt-Od Bat-Erdene won the silver medal in the "Men's Fit Model Open" category, and Khosbayar Naranmunkh claimed a bronze medal in the "Master Men’s Physique 40-49 Years Open" category.
Mongolia has been a member of the IFBB for 31 years, and for the first time, a Mongolian athlete became the IFBB World Champion in 2024.
