Twelve Mongolian Athletes Competing in Winter World University Games

Ulaanbaatar, January 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The XXXII Winter World University Games is taking place on January 13- 23, 2025, in Torino, Italy. At the 2025 FISU Winter World University Games, about 2,000 athletes from 57 countries are competing for 96 sets of medals in 11 sports, while Mongolia is represented by 12 athletes competing in five sports under the guidance of four coaches.


Athletes B. Gereltuya, E. Munkh-Erdene, G. Munkh-Erdene, and M. Borkhuu will compete in the short track event under the coaching of B. Bat-Orgil, while O. Misheel will participate in the figure skating event coached by Tetsukatsu Nakashima.


In cross-country skiing, O. Zolbayar, A. Khuslen, and B. Nomin-Erdene will compete under coach D. Battulga, while in alpine skiing, A. Sondorbayar, O. Usukh-Ireedui, and A. Itgel are representing the country under the guidance of coach S. Temuulen. Finally, G. Ganzorig will compete in snowboarding.


Among the Mongolian athletes, G. Ganzorig will be the first Mongolian athlete to compete in snowboarding at the Winter Universiade. He is a three-time Mongolian champion in this sport and a gold and silver medalist at the People's Sports Games of Mongolia.
