Ulaanbaatar, February 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Summary of events for the week of February 17-23, 2025.
Events in Ulaanbaatar:
February 17: The “My Mongol-2025” expo organized annually by the Cultural Center of the Mongolian Trade Union will open.
February 18: The Opening Concert for the “Golden Morin Khuur” vinyl record will be held at the Mongolian State Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre. This record features the best works by generations of Mongolian composers, performed as solo pieces with a symphony orchestra on a traditional leather-faced morin khuur of N. Jigjiddorj, conductor and soloist of the National Philharmonic’s Morin Khuur Ensemble.
February 21: International Mother Language Day is observed.
Until February 22: The “MONGOL” Nomadic Winter Festival is taking place at the National Garden Park. The event aims to promote and disseminate intangible cultural heritage and highlight Mongolian Lunar New Year traditions, customs, and associated rituals.
Until February 27: The “Amar Baina Uu” fair is held at the “Soyolj Mall” and the “Ikh Nayad” Trade Center.
Until March 12: Artist R. Bayasgalan’s “Mongol Hun Gem Chess” Exhibition is on display at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum.
Local Events:
February 18: A meeting of tourism, trade, services, and business entrepreneurs will be held in Sukhbaatar soum, Selenge aimag.
February 19: The “Future Sports Masters–2025” basketball tournament, named in honor of Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve, will take place in Uliastai soum, Zavkhan aimag.
February 19: A “Herder Consultation Meeting” will be organized in Sukhbaatar soum, Selenge aimag.
February 20–21: The “Tsaa, Tsaachidiin Bayar” event will be held at Tsagaannuur soum, Khuvsgul aimag.
February 21: The “Selenge Dolgio” Folk Song and Dance Ensemble will present its “Sar Shiniin Egshiglen” folk music performance dedicated to the Lunar New Year celebration.
February 21–24: A Lunar New Year expo will be held In Uliastai soum, Zavkhan aimag. Small and medium-sized enterprises from all 24 soums of Zavkhan, as well as from Govi-Altai, Khovd, Arkhangai, and Uvs aimags, will participate.
February 22–23: The annual “Tsagaan Sar–2025” fair will take place at the Sports Palace in Sukhbaatar soum, Selenge aimag.
Events Abroad:
Until February 25: The “Mongol Language and Script” Exhibition continues in Taiwan, Seoul, and Tokyo.
