Foreign Minister of Mongolia Meets WHO Director-General

Ulaanbaatar, February 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on February 14, 2025, on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference.

 

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the United Nations, the current situation of the Mongolian health sector, and ways to strengthen cooperation in preventing influenza and protecting the public, especially children.

 

Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized the importance of reducing air pollution in Ulaanbaatar City to protect the health of citizens and reduce influenza outbreaks. The WHO Director-General informed the WHO's Global Initiative on Childhood Cancer, expressing his intention to provide detailed information to Mongolia in the near future and support Mongolia in joining the Initiative.
